A full-day session on making paint the slow way. We begin by looking at the earth around the studio — laterite, ochre, river silt, charcoal and a few flowers — and end the day with a small set of hand-ground paints and a painting of your own. No previous experience with painting is needed. The day moves gently: gathering, breaking, grinding, washing, binding, and finally painting.
